The draft international standard (DIS) for ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems – Requirements with guidance for use has been published by BSi and is available on their website for review and comment until April 2016.

ISO 45001 will eventually replace OHSAS 18001 as a full international standard, and will provide a clear framework for organisations who wish to improve their occupational health and safety performance and protect their workers. The draft is based on the common management system high level text of Annex SL, which is used in the quality and environmental management standards and intended to encourage integration of management systems.

Alcumus ISOQAR are keeping customers update to date with progress on the new Standard – the latest update is available on the website here.

Alcumus ISOQAR will also be launching its ISO 45001 network shortly, providing customers with useful information and guidelines on the transition to the new standard leading up to the launch, which is scheduled for October 2016.
